Registration open for Bluestem PACE annual 5K walk/run

June, 22, 2021

MCPHERSON, KANSAS—Bluestem PACE of McPherson, a nonprofit dedicated to helping seniors live well at home, will host its annual 5K walk/run on Saturday, August 28, at 9 a.m. Those interested in registering for the PACE Race can do so at bluestempace.org/events.

Registration is $30 for early bird registrants through June 30. After June 30, registration increases to $35. The registration fee includes a race t-shirt.

“After having to do a virtual PACE Race in 2020, we are excited to be back to an in-person event this year,” said Justin Loewen, Bluestem PACE executive director. “Being a part of this event helps PACE participants continue their care when unforeseen circumstances arise.”

With the primary location in McPherson and an alternative care site set to open later this summer in Hutchinson, Bluestem PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) serves individuals aged 55 and better in a six-county south central Kansas region with medical, social, physical and personal care so seniors can remain living independently in their homes for as long as possible.

Race registration fees will benefit the Bluestem PACE Good Neighbor Fund, which provides financial assistance to program participants in the event of unexpected circumstances, and assists Bluestem PACE in providing the highly coordinated, integrated medical care and other services for seniors.

The Bluestem PACE Race for 2021 is funded in part by a grant from the McPherson Convention and Visitor’s Center, as well as other local businesses and individuals.

“The support of each of our sponsors allows us to provide more resources to PACE participants and continue offering them the best, personalized care possible,” said Sheryl Dossett, Bluestem PACE fund advancement associate.

Race sponsorship options are still available. Contact Sheryl Dossett at sheryld@bluestemks.org for more information about becoming a sponsor.
