Bluestem Gala to benefit senior care

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – Bluestem Communities will host one of its most popular events, the Bluestem Gala, on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Meridian Center in Newton. 

The Bluestem Gala is an annual event of which the proceeds benefit the benevolent funds and help provide for the needs of residents and participants at each of the three Bluestem Communities organizations – Bluestem PACE with locations in McPherson and Hutchinson, Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton and Schowalter Villa in Hesston. The benevolent funds assist residents and participants who, due to unforeseen circumstances, are unable to cover the full cost of their care.

The Bluestem Gala will feature a catered meal by Blue Moon Caterers, a vacation raffle for two and live music featuring The Wichita Jazz Collective. Registration is $175 per individual or $1,575 for a table of 10. Register at bluestemks.org/events by October 18.

“We want this event to be an opportunity for individuals, couples, friends and family to enjoy an evening of good food, good entertainment and good company while supporting the mission of Bluestem Communities,” said Derek Yoder, Bluestem Communities Vice President of Fund Advancement.

An exciting part of every Bluestem Gala is a raffle for a chance to win a vacation for two to one of two destinations. The 2024 destination options are Niagara Falls or Cancun, Mexico. The Niagara Falls trip includes round trip airfare from Wichita, four nights at the Oakes Hotel overlooking the falls, a rental car and a Maid of the Mist boat tour. The Cancun trip includes round trip airfare from Wichita, four nights at the Park Royal Beach all-inclusive resort and round trip transportation to and from the airport.  Each trip is valued up to $4,000 depending on the season of travel. Raffle tickets are $50 each or $100 for three tickets. Individuals must be present at the Bluestem Gala to win.
